Participation in the Urban Ideas and Projects Competition
As part of the Urban Ideas and Projects Competition, I presented the concept “Green Islands” — a series of architectural solutions aimed at revitalizing underutilized urban spaces in Kyiv. The project proposes transforming overlooked areas into vibrant green zones for relaxation and cultural events. “Green Islands” merges ecology and multi-level urban planning, creating valuable public oases in Kyiv’s residential and central areas
"Green Islands" Project: Transforming a Residential Parking Lot
In a residential district in Kyiv, a long but inefficient parking lot (80 m x 1400 m) occupies valuable urban space. For the “Green Islands” project, I proposed a three-story parking structure. The first two floors would be dedicated to parking, while the rooftop of the third floor would become a public green park. Featuring pedestrian walkways, rest areas, and benches, this elevated park returns green space to residents, providing a social and recreational haven above the busy parking structure.
"Green Islands" in the City’s Office District
In Kyiv’s city center, an inactive factory surrounded by offices and schools inspired a concept for six three-story blocks, combining green and cultural spaces. The ground floors of each block would host educational clusters, including skateboarding, rollerblading, art parks, graffiti walls, and sculpture areas. The upper floors would feature rooftop gardens, providing green spaces for relaxation. This project enriches the urban environment and fosters a unique cultural space for interaction, learning, and leisure in the heart of the city
